    Hi all!

I have a strange issue that I cannot find answer for...

I have Whitebox, Gigabyte motherboard and 1TB Seagate 7200 SATAIII (6Gbps) HDD.

Core i5 CPU and 16GB of DDR3 RAM.

I`m running ESX 5.1 latest build from USB stick.

    I have 1 datastore.

    Now the funny part.

On this datastore is one Server 2008R2 server with little to none CPU/MEM/HDD usage.

When I add Server 2012 to this datastore and start using it (Windows update add roles etc...) buth VMs are useless, sluggish performance etc...

    I have like 350-620ms latency!!

I added second HDD, powered off server 2012 but leave 2008R2 powered on.

Then I copied to and from this datastore and latency remained in 1-5ms range...

Now how it is possible that one virtual machine causes such latency? When copying to and from datastore latency is ridicoulus low but it reads and writes a whole lot more than windows update on server 2012...

    Any idea?

    Thanks!
