  • 1.  Disable SSD Cashing

    Hi guys,

    on our LAB had to test SSD cashing on the 5.5, i've configured this lately and it working fine,

    right now i want to disable this feature and use the SSD again as a datastore but it not allowing me to disable this feature.

    all the machines were using the cashing on the SSD been disabled.

    any suggestions how to format this SSD using the CLI ?

    From vSphere 5.5 Documentation Center 

    "You cannot remove a virtual flash resource if it is configured with host swap cache or if the host has virtual machines configured with Flash Read Cache that are powered on."

    Can you confirm that nothing still uses the flash resource? Do you receive an error message when you try to disable it?

    i've fixed the issue is the VM was on and need to be off in order to disable this.

    Hi

    Welcome to the communities.

    Its good to know that problem has been resolved,

    just want to share one feedback and proverb if nothing work restart work , so if stucked some where and not production environment

    then do simple shutdown then check the changes you wan to do.
