    Hi Community,

Did somebody configure two different SANs to one vSphere by iSCSI ?

I have HP Lefthand connected to my vSphere ESXi 5.5 box. Now I want to connect DELL 3620i SAN to the same ESXi box and migrate all data using storage vmotion to the new storage.

I'm confused if ESXi box will work correctly with two different SANs, because you can create only one iSCSI initiator on ESXi box, and need to work with two different iSCSI targets.

    Did somebody have this expirience?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have experience about connecting two different SAN storage devices via FC to an ESXi server. But based on ESXi maximums document, you can connect ESXi server to 64 different targets by physical adapter and 256 targets by software iSCSI.

    That sounds good!

Do you know the configuration of the LAN ports on ESXi if the SANs located on a different subnet ?

Do I need to create vmkernel switch for each SAN subnet?

You'll need separate vmkernel adapters for each subnet yes. They can share uplinks/vswitch however.
