Dell with Broadcom BCM5720 ntg3 driver issue?

    Hi,

I have a new Dell R730 delivered with VMware ESXi, 6.5.0, 5969303 and ntg3 NIC drivers.

I setup same as an older Dell with 5.5 with tg3 NIC drivers, connected in same way to switches.

Can't ping through the new Dell VM's to one of our switches.

New Dell autodetects speed on switch incorrectly.  I hard set it, but still no luck with any VM's connecting to this switch network.

I found this about switch to tg3, or use legacy ntg3.

    https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2150889

My question is after reboot, is there a risk the drivers will not be working correctly, and i'll lose connectivity to administer the box?

If that is a possibility, what is the next step to bringing up a ssh and change back to ntg3?  So I can be prepared.

    Thanks

you can use idrac console, if host did not come back online.
