Hi,
I am at a complete loss going just from documentation regarding : Dashboards of Management Pack for VMware Cloud Director. Maybe somebody has done this before and can clearify some steps/instructions on how to do this with newer versions of VMWare Aria Operations [ 8.17 and above ].
To clearify this question is there a process or known way to use customized or "other" dashboards in the Cloud Director Aria Operations Manager Plugin itself.
This is regarding:
- VMWare Aria Operations 8.17.1 [ mainly for ChargeBack and adding custom dashboards to the Management Pack ]
- VMware Aria Operations Management Pack for VMware Cloud Director [ Version: 8.16.0.23235133 ]
Now according to the documentation of the management pack there is an import/export dashboard option in VMWare Aria Operations:
Under Dashboard options:
https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Aria-Operations/8.17.1/Configuring-Operations/GUID-7F96D356-8A1F-40F8-932E-14C952EC78B5.html
Indicates:
Export : is .zip (containing json only)
Import : A PAK or JSON file that contains dashboard information.
In the VMWare Aria Operation 8.17.1 documentation it is referred that the dbcli.sh is replaced with opscli.sh
dashboard Command Operations (vmware.com)
But in the newer versions of Aria Operations there are no .XML extensions for dashboard imports!
This also with very limited CLEAR information regarding importing dashboards for: VMware Aria Operations Management Pack for VMware Cloud Director.
Software used:
- VMWare Aria Operations 8.17.1 [ mainly for ChargeBack and adding custom dashboards to the Management Pack ]
- VMware Aria Operations Management Pack for VMware Cloud Director [ Version: 8.16.0.23235133 ]
Now the question or validation of help question:
- Is there a process or known way to customize or "import "other" dashboards in the Cloud Director Aria Operations Manager Plugin itself.
- I've tried uploading the extracted .zip file to: /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/plugins/inbound/vcloud_adapter3/conf/dashboards/
and run the ops-cli.sh
command, but during import it gives and .json line end error on the last line.
- Is the only option to properly do this add it by Extending an Existing Management Pack ? And then importing this with ops-cli.sh as a .PAK file?
- Someone else asked where to download the Management Pack Builder [.ova] on the Broadcom website, but only answer given was the VMWare Market Place, where you can't download the Management Pack Builder with Broadcom creds:
Download Location on Broadcom Portal | Management Pack Builder, people with just a Broadcom login can't download the file:
https://marketplace.cloud.vmware.com/services/details/draft-vmware-aria-operation-management-pack-builder-1-1?slug=true
Some help would be greatly appreciated.
