Cross vCenter Migration - vCenter 7 to 8

Hi All,

Just wanting to confirm if I will be able to move VM's from vCenter 7 to 8. 

I will power the VM's down and use, Migrate... Cross vCenter export. 

Has anyone seen any issues with this?  I do understand I will need to update VMWare tolls after moving the VM.

I just migrated my VMs from vCenter 7 old hardware  to vCenter 8 in a new hardware using the method that you mentioned.

The only issues I noticed is that, I have old OS version due to some legacy system that I can't replace yet, (Windows 2008 R2) it became unlicensed and needed to re-activate.  Also for some VM running CENTOS 7, there is a CPU warning during bootup but the VM works normal.

other than that everything else went well.

did you need to have the distributed switches on same version

We've been doing vMotions (live) from a 7.x to an 8.x within the same physical DC. No problems.
