    Hello,

Can I move a datastore into a Datastore Cluster while its still hosting VMs?  I have not been able to find information on this. Everything I find on Datastore Clusters talks about new environments.  I am working on an existing vSphere 5.5 but the datastores are not clustered.  I want to place the datastores into a Datastore Cluster without vMotioning the VMs off.

    Thanks,

You can move datastore into Datastore Cluster without any downtime and while VMs are running on it. (It is as same as you are putting host into cluster, while VMs are running.)

Thank you very much.  The Host reference was an excellent one.

Also, If you want to remove datastore cluster, you can just right click and remove. It will not remove datastore attached to host like host cluster.

You can add either all VMFS or all NFS datastores into the datastore cluster but can not both in a datastore cluster
