    Hi,

Is it possible to copy and paste from a PC to a virtual machine.

I'm running ESX 4.1 (update 2) and understand that the default for this is to disable copy and paste.

Therefore, I have tried the following:

    1) Adding the following entries to my virtual machine

    • isolation.tools.copy.disable – false
    • isolation.tools.paste.disable – false

Also made the following change to my ESX host by editing the config file in /etc/vmware

It is possible to copy and paste isn't it??

    Thanks

It sounds like you have done everything right ... the Copy and Paste options are only enabled when the virtual machines restart or resume the next time or shutdown and power-on the VM for changes to take effect.

I assume that you have also restarted the VMs?

Hi Mike, thanks for the response.

As you said, I did do everything correctly, however restarting the virtual machine did not resolve the matter.

You actually have to Power down and then power on the VM.

    cheers fella
