I'm curious if it is ok to enable the provisioning stack on the ports/network that are used for vmotion? Recently I was storage vmotioning a disk on a shutdown VM and considering it took 2 hours for a 2tb drive i feel like it was using our standard network which is 1gb to move the disk instead of the SAN or the 10gb vmotion network.
If I'm understanding correctly a cold migration will use the provisioning stack and if not specified on a port it will default to a managment NIC . So i was wondering if its acceptable to enable the provisioning stack on the vmotion network to to use the higher bandwidth connection.
Thanks
