cheap vSphere LAB setup

Hi

i want to buy 2 desktop for vSphere lab setup in home. i am planning on buying AMD Phenom II x4 or x6 processors.. Can anyone suggest me a good motherboard with AMD-V support. I leave in india. i am planning for ASUS r Gigabyte..  which is better and model number.. Please help me.. thanks....

Hi sundar buy i5 or i7 processor with intel DH67CL original motherboard. It's support upto 32GB RAM. One desktop is enough insted of two.By using workstation you can run multiple esx servers.

Just out of interest what areas of VMware are you planning to use/test... is this learning or for POC?

For info:

I personally went with Dell T100 x 2 Servers and a QNAP iSCSI system with which I also inculded a Linksys managed switch.  This may be too much for your requirement but it cover pretty much everything for my testing, learning (Exams) and solution development for SMEs :smileyhappy: Only 8GB maximum per server as well but the next model up is a good option.

yes its for my testing and as well as for learning purpose only.. i have every less budget. so i thought of buying phenom II x4 or x6 with 8G ram and a standard unmanaged switch gigabit switch.. i want to use freenas for iscsi and nas.. i saw people using phenom II x6 and x4 in there testing labs even though its not in compatibility matrixes.. so only motherboard i was worried about ..
