Change in energy management policies - Host vmware

Hi guys

I have a case of a vm where it tells me that the VM uses CPU contention and the vRealize operation manager operation recommends me to go to the host configure the energy management policies and modify them from Balanced to High performance. When changing this high performance option, will my virtual servers be affected or not?

Additional also tells me to modify the following hardware option BIOS power management in "OS Controlled" To modify this option I would have to restart my physical host enter the BIOS and enable it?

My physical equipment is a Dell PowerEdge FC430.

About the second one, when you change the power management, you normally need to reboot your server in order to apply the option.

In order to allow ESXi to control CPU power-saving features, set power management in the BIOS to “OS Controlled Mode”. Even if you don’t intend to use these power-saving features, ESXi

provides a convenient way to manage them.

High performance power policy will provide the full hardware performance.

To change to "OS Controlled" you need to reboot the host and configure the setting in the BIOS.

CPU contention could be due to a number of factors. Some of them include, high over commitment, over population of VMs on a host or large virtual machines. I suggest to have a look on that as well.
