CentOS 7 VM migration to ESXi 7

    Hi all!

    I need to migrate a Centos 7 x64 VM from ESXi 6.0 to 7.0U3.

Testing with another similar VM on the 7.0 I am getting a warning for version mismatch:

However, if I attempt to change the OS version (e.g. https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.hostclient.doc/GUID-CD342EE5-CCE2-4D8C-B714-D173151923D6.html) host gives me again the same list of OS, probably because it is an ESXi 6 compatible VM:

Since I am getting the same OS list, I cannot see the point of the warning.

I tried changing OS to Other Linux 64bit but I’m again getting the same warning.

So, is it possible to change host compatibility? Or, on the other hand, is it safe to move a production VM to the 7.0 host and ignore the warning?
