    Hi all!

    I've recently set up an ESXi 7.0 system to migrate from my old 6.0.

    The 6.0 seems to had had CBT enabled by default for all VMs, whereas 7.0 does not. I am trying to enable it following the KB https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1020128 (testing on a small 7.0U2 VM so far), but I am failing.

    ctkEnabled=TRUE

    scsi0:0.ctkEnabled=TRUE

    First parameter is not saved at all. I am not sure if it's valid or not. Second parameter is indeed saved, but backup software (Synology) still replies that CBT is not enabled. Is there a way out of this?

    thank you for prompt reply. However, that KB article does not give further info. It also includes a link to itself(!)

    Synology offers the same instructions, probably just copied from VMWare https://kb.synology.com/en-br/DSM/tutorial/How_to_enable_CBT_manually_for_a_virtual_machine

    VM in question  has only one vmdk, and a ...-ctk.vmdk file has also appeared in its folder. No snapshots of course.  Still, CBT is not enabled.
