I can confirm that this issue persists in version 17.6.2 with AMD Hardware and a VM with Microsoft Win11 24H2. VM does not respond or exhibits various visual artifacts when focus moves from the VM within VMWare or the system is paused in some way (S3 or S4).
Super annoying and would really like a better fix than restarting explorer.exe every time or going to software-based GFX.

I can also confirm that in version 17.6.1 by disabling "Accelerate 3D Graphics" in the "Display" options of the VM Settings also works as FCrane has posted.

I can confirm that this problem still persists in version 17.6.1.

After waking the host computer from sleep, when I click the mouse on the guest operating system, it does nothing. I can go to the top and have the tabs appear, select the "Home" tab, and then back to my guest operating system. This at least unfreezes the screen but doesn't always refresh the screen. When the screen is not refreshed, when I move the mouse I can make out small areas under the mouse pointer and am able to close applications, which does refresh the portion of the screen where the application was running, but not the Taskbar buttons.
I have two monitors connected to the computer. The host is running fine on the first monitor. VMWare, running on the second monitor can be minimized and restored and does not change the freeze until an actual action occurs within the VMWare console (not the current active guest OS).
I have a 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K 3.00 GHz, 64GB installed RAM.
Host: Windows 11 Pro, 24H2
