    Hello!

We have installed vmware chargeback from a virtual appliance, now we are trying to connect to a vCenter server.

SQL Connection fails, we can connect using odbc or using sql server studio remotely logged in using these creds.

But we get an error while connecting with Chargeback appliance. I've attached the file.

In release notes I see words about this message saying if we get it then the password is incorrect, but it is correct.

How can we thoubleshoot this issue?

    Hi,

It seems you are using Windows Authentication for VCDB, which is not possible when you are using Vitual Appliance. Please use "SQL server Authentication" and provide database user name and password in the Add vCenter server dialog.

If you would like to use Windows Authentication for VCDB, you need to use windows version of Chargeback server.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further problems.

    Regards,

    Hemanth

    it really did.

actually I've tried that way too but must have had erroneus permissions for the sql user.

    thanks!

Hello, we have the same issue over here.. were you able to solve it ?

We are using Chargeback installed on WS2008SRV + Oracle DB. Our vCenter is installed using SQL Express Edition...

    Thanks..
