  • 1.  Can vSphere Data Protection be deployed outside vCenter ?

    my infrastructre vcenter is different from production vcenter though both are running 5.1

    can i deploy vdp on one vcenter and backup the vms sitting on another vcenter ?

    No. VDP should be deployed within the vCenter to protect the VMs.

    You cannot have VDP deployed in one vCenter and protect the VMs on another.

    thanks for reply. but wondering why vdp do not work if deployed outside vcenter ?

    any plans to make it work in future ?
