    Hello All,

Iam developin an application in which I am using the VC web service to clone a virtual machine.

Can I change the Internal Computer Name of the newly Cloned virtual machine. I mean the computer name in the operating system that the virtual mahine runs?

    Than you.

If the guest is a windows guest I think you can do it by using sys prep from Microsoft.

    Thanks dantastic and acr.

As you know Iam cloning the machine using Virtual center, do you know If there any cinfiguration can be set during the cloning process to change the computer name.

because I want to change the computer name without launching the machine during the cloning process.

If you get a chance to write more explanation about sys prep and Microsoft API I will be very gratefull

    Thank you very much

    mohd,

Here is a quick link regarding the SysPrep tool installation (Page 345).

    http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_301_201_admin_guide.pdf[/i]

This will enable an option to "Customize the OS" when deploying a VM from a clone.

Hope This helps. If you would like more information, please let me know.
