Looking forward to sharing some big announcements about Workstation and Fusion next week!

Still figuring out the new community knobs and levers in the meantime!

Fusion side I would be hoping to hear about the full featured solution that has been hinted at.  As a long term Fusion user I count on this for many things.

Yay, looking forward to it (and first post in the migrated forum)!

Is the big announcement the acquisition of VMWare's EUC by KKR?  I am assuming that VMWare Fusion is under the umbrella of VMWare EUC.  So I am guessing that makes it so that VMWare Fusion and the sister product Workstation will be spun out to the new company Omnissa.

If that is the case, have they announced the product life line for Fusion?  Will it continue to be a product?  What will support or upgrade options look like?

    100% unequivocally NO.

We left EUC in 2018. (for... reasons...) .  We moved into the vSphere team and have been there since.

Stay tuned to our announcement for answers to what you seek!

Thank you. That is a relief to hear. Waiting for more exciting news than.

It was publicly announced that Fusion and Workstation are part of the VMware Cloud Foundation division at the time the Broadcom acquisition was closed. They aren't in EUC, so they won't be spun out.

Broadcom wouldn't have spent the money to move the forums to this new home if they were going to spin them off with the rest of thecEUC products

Nice, and I'm fine with paying subscription cost to support the product.  Not to look at a gift horse in the mouth, two questions:

    1) As a paid user, I still don't have my entitlement to download - any ETA on getting that fixed?

    2) Any ETA on a tech preview with full product support (shared folders, graphics performance, etc)?  Hopefully just after WWDC?

    Yep!

Well, I've been trying to download Fusion 13.5.2 pro for personal use from the site... Using my support account which was migrated (supposedly, no sign of it knowing my previous license keys) about a week ago. Oh no, nearly two weeks ago, basically as soon as the email saying to do it came in.

I can't download it. I still just get "Account verification is Pending. Please try after some time."

In-app upgrade is failing on an apple silicon mac, so I can't upgrade it that way. It gets stuck at "Update of VMWare Fusion Core pending..." forever. This happened on upgrade to the last version too, resolved by just forcing a download and reinstall of the app afresh; but... see above: I can't get 13.5.2.

The in-app upgrade did work on an old Intel iMac I hardly use any more...

BTW I usually have it installed through Homebrew - but if the installer dmg can't be downloaded directly then I guess they're going to have to drop the package soon... A direct download would definitely be handy here, with or without Homebrew.

    Hi,

Michael posted this here for those people who have trouble downloading..
    https://www.mikeroysoft.com/post/download-fusion-ws/

Please note that with the move to Broadcom things are in flux, it certainly isn't always as smooth as it used to be.

Unfortunately, that's where mine says 'no entitlement'.

I'm rather surprised that entitlements weren't a go/no-go criteria for the migration.

yep, i did all that. I'm stuck at the last screen, when I click on the download button (the little cloud with the down-arrow):

(I did see the checkbox for agreeing to T&Cs the first time in, and the first time attempting Workstation Pro too - for a test, don't need - but not since; presumably it's remembering my prior agreement.)

It does look like the sort of error that time might cure, but how long is that going to take? The account itself was set up/migrated about 12 days ago, when prompted to do so by that email.

all right, i'm going to try Safari. But if that works, it's still a bug! Nope, exactly the same in Safari.

I'm seeing this same thing. Thank goodness the in-product updater worked for me or else I would have never gotten 13.5.2 installed.

@Michael Roy this is a really big deal for us Fusion and Workstation users. Can someone be made aware to get this fixed (sooner rather than later would be greatly appreciated)?

    haha, so, workaround time.

The vmware-vmfusion.log of the failed in-app upgrade helpfully showed the URL that it downloads the update from. So I thought I'd try it, thinking optimistically that maybe it would have some kind of script I could run.

But the downloaded com.vmware.fusion.zip.tar file, when sufficiently unpacked, turns out to just have the application itself in it and an empty manifest. Moved the app into /Applications and ran it, and it installed itself as normal. Removed my old license per the recent post here and I'm back up running my Fedora 40 aarch64 guest again quite happily.

Implied: Just copying the app from the Intel iMac after its upgrade probably would have worked too, given it's a universal.

By the way are we actually expecting there to be significant differences in the app (besides enabled Pro features)? For me the main point of upgrading was to get past the transition into it now being from broadcom (which, given the need for the manual workaround, can't really be said to be a success), plus the licencing change. But I don't actually see a changelog for changes in the app itself. There wasn't anything in the check-for-updates dialog.

While this was a **** static download, it's needed to be dug out of a logfile, and is presumably not an official one so I don't expect Homebrew could or should use it.

Getting the same issue here. Can't download the client because of "Account verification pending."

I upgraded to 13.5.2, however it is to my understanding that I need to remove my previous free licence to unlock the pro version for personal use. How do I do that? When I access the Licence menu from the top left corner, I cannot validate the empty field: it requires a licence.

I just wrote a post about how to remove the license key in Fusion to go from Player 13.5.2 to Pro 13.5.2:
