  • 1.  best server for the price?

    Any recommendations on a good ESXi box for $1600 to $2000? I would be using the system to run as many VM's as I can of Ubuntu, Windows, CentOS, etc.

    Thanks - I'm looking for more a more specific recommendation, but I can appreciate all of the variables involved.

    Is your business fairly new and does it have less than 150 employees?

    If you, you may want to check out the Sun Startup Essentials Program - http://www.sun.com/startupessentials/join.jsp

    Once you sign up, it takes around a week for them to accept you and they offer servers and storage devices for around 40-60% off regular price.

    The x2270 is a good server to look at, especially if you are connecting it to a SAN.
