Alphabetical order for Tags and Tags Categories in VMware vCenter 8.x

Hello Broadcom/VMware,

I would like to know when Broadcom (VMware) finally intends to fix the display of Tags and Tags Categories in alphabetical order?

If you select a VM and look for tags there or if you go to Tags & Custom Attributes and look there for Tags and Categories, the entries are not listed in alphabetical order. The more you make use of this feature, the more it looks weird and difficult to handle.

The same thing applies to the entries, when you select 'Users and Groups', Users are not alphabetically ordered, whereas Groups are alphabetically ordered and it would be nice, if more than 10 group entries can be displayed at once.

It is about time that these things get finally fixed in the next VMware vCenter 8.x patch.

Is there anybody from those Broadcom-/VMware-employees that can hand over this request to the developer team and might return with an answer here?

I've been asking for that for tags and other things for years even before Broadcom.

This would explain why nobody from Broadcom/VMware dares to reply here. To be honest I did not expect to receive a reply here. It is simply ignored and fits into Broadcom's policy. They decide, what's important and how they can get the most of money through licenses.

Feature requests are not welcome. That's completely different to how other companies view there relations to customers.

When I say I don't like Broadcom's website at all, then it's said politely.

Here you are forced to change passwords every now and then (ok, I understand), but it takes at minimum 4 mails from Broadcom, that take ages to receive and some customers have more than one account.

Maybe someone with access to vCenter 9.x can tell us, if Broadcom/VMware fixed the unalphabetically order of Tag and Tags categories from vCenter 8.x ?

In this case, you could have alphabetical order when upgrading 😆

To be honest, I did not expect any reply from Broadcom/VMware. It looks like they are simply not interested to react to feature requests. And since you already asked for that as well, that's a plain confirmation.

It looks like it is not their policy to react to feature request but get the most of money from their customer base through licenses instead. That's completely different how other companies view their relations to customers.

When I first had a look into this community forum, I could already notice that it looks more like customers talk to customers instead of employees. Maybe, they are not allowed to reply to this questions or they simply see no need for that. Who knows!

Maybe some of those VMware vCenter customers can tell us, if unalphabetical order for Tags and Tags categories is finally fixed now or if this continues endlessly.
