    Dear members,

We have 2 x ESXI 5.1 Essential plus setup (2 vcenter with 3 hosts each and using Vmware VSA)

We have had some bad experiences with Vmware VSA which triggers us to spend the real money to get a proper filer.

I would like to seek your feedback on 3Par 7200 2 node with Raid 5 20TB usable space

Do you reckon it is a good setup?

Our plan is to acquire 2 x 3par 7200 and setup Chassis HA for chassis redundacy and shared out NFS for the Essential hosts ( 6 of them)

    Please kindly comment!

The VMware hardware compatibility lists shows only 3par 7000 and 10000 as supported devices. I don't see 7200 on the supported list.Take a look at it yourself

You wont go wrong with 3PAR. Btw, I did'nt know that it could do NFS? Our previous setup was a FC SAN. 3PAR 7000 is the StorServe Family name. It consists of 2 models 7200 and 7400.

    Hi Rommel,

I was told that it could do NFS but there was miscommunication.

May I know what type of FC SAN switch were you using?

Is your ESXI Host connected to the FC SAN Switch or ?

In my previous environment we used 3PAR StorServe 7400 Fiber Channel SAN. We used HP 8/24 SAN switch. So yes the ESXi hosts were connected to the FC SAN switch.
