  • 1.  How do I increase video memory in Fusion?

    Posted Jul 23, 2008 04:46 PM

I am using VMware Fusion on an iMac to run Windows XP Home edition. I am attempting to view security cameras remotely and even though the Q-See company tells me that it is impossible to do this on anything except a real PC, everything seems to be working fine, with one exception. I need more video memory in VMware Fusion. Q-See customer support had me open the DirectX Diagnostic tool in XP and select the Display tab. Under that it reports that the Approximate Total Memory is 16.0 MB, but I need a minimum of 64 MB. Can I increase this? How?

Change the Display Settings on the target Virtual Machine as shown in the picture below and this will increase Video RAM to 128 MB.

Sorry I clicked the wrong box and only gave you points for a helpful answer when in fact it was the correct answer.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have the exact same setup with a Mac running VMware with Windows XP and I am trying to remotely access my Q-see security DVR.

I can get access to the DVR control panel, but no video.

I changed the display setting to allocate 128M but I still can't see the video.

Are there other settings I need to adjust?

The problem seems to be in the VMware video path.

    Thanks for your help!
