Want license key for vSphere 8 free version

Hello all,

I have used vsphere 6.7 and 7.0.3 the free versions in the past and never had any woes getting a license key. Until esxi 8. I understand the premium is better and such but this is for learning purposes and for home use. I did "try vcenter 8 full version for 60 days or what not late this past year of 2023 but never really were able to use it. I have 6.7 installed free version and could never set up 8 full version trial with vcenter. Always ran into errors. I've looked all over and can't find anywhere for the free hypervisor version of 8.0.2 just the free license key. Where in the world is it? Someone please, i really want to use it long term.

 - The reason you can't find the free version is because it has gone . I'm not sure exactly which day the links were taken down but this VMware KB is dated today https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2107518

 

The original Free VMware Hypervisor link(s) now redirects to https://www.vmware.com/products/vsphere.html where you can only now obtain a 60 day trial license.

 

Your best bet for learning is to join VMUG advantage. Its an official source, and you can access 365 day trial licenses for about $200 a year.
