  • 1.  Change VMware Cloud License to vSphere license keys

    Posted Mar 20, 2024 02:58 PM

    Hello,

Last month we change our licence mode from vSphere+ in VMware cloud subscription managed by a VMware cloud gateway to new broadcom licensing "VMware vSphere 8 Enterprise Plus for vSphere Foundation" with keys.

We cannot add the licence key because we have this message in our vcenter "The vCenter Server is subscribed to VMware Cloud. You no longer need to add vCenter Server and ESXi host license keys."

I can't find any technical procedure on "how to change VMware licence mode from cloud to keys "

If anyone knows how to do it or has already done it.

    Thanks

I see there is a procedure available to make the switch from the current subscription term to the termed license keys, but seems this has to be channeled through your VMware by Broadcom - Account team and Sales Representative who could help with temporary license keys if needed. Please feel free to reach out to them, they should be able to help with this. If not, you may reach out to Global support via an SR and they should route you to the licensing team for assistance.
