    Hello,

    if we need build a VM with 12vCPU, will there any different performance if the cores per sockets is set to 1,2,3,4,6,12 ?

     - Yes, it will make a difference. You need to have an understanding of NUMA (and vNUMA) to answer this question (it basically depends how many cores per socket you have on the underlying Physical host).

    Sorry for the dump, but i've pulled these links from my Bible on the subject, which are all worth reading.

    In addition, i would high recommend running the VMware Compute Optimization Tool against your cluster. It will identify where you have "misconfigured" VMs in terms of the Sockets to Cores configuration. Its a really useful tool.
