  • 1.  VMHGFS breaks Ubuntu Hibernate mode

    Hibernate has not worked in Ubuntu running under Fusion for a long time. I was hoping that 2.0.2 would fix this, but no luck. The error message that flashes briefly on the screen states that VMHGFS will not freeze. I even tried a brand new installation of Ubuntu 8.10 with Fusion 2.0.2 (build 147997) and still no hibernation. What could be causing this?

    There was a bug fixed recently where hgfs (on linux) was preventing hibernation. The patch did not make it into Fusion 2.0.2 but it is in the latest open-vm-tools code refresh.
