    Hi there,

     

    I am new to VMware, and need help with the following error " 

    Disk Consolidation Needed - Unable to access file since it is locked

    " I tried to do the disk consolidation, but I got errors.

    This may be caused by a backup application, which did not release the VM's virtual disk after completing the backup.
    In this case please check whether a stale process is running on the backup server, or - in case hot-add is used - check whether the backup server, or a backup-proxy still has the VM's virtual disk mounted. If so, unmount it without selecting the delete from disk option!
