Hi. i have XPhome installed and working well via bootcamp (1.3)

with fusion, it boots ok in safe mode only

normal booting fails (XP screen comes up, then blue "windows is starting up", then it doesnt. instead it gets into an endless rebooting loop.

ive tried installing vmware tools, windows update, bootcamp driver reinstallation... no difference

    any suggestions?

    thanks

    tom

Your post didn't explicitly say this, but the subject suggests that preprocessing failed. Can you go to ~/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Helper/naos-1.0.vmwarem in the Finder, ctrl-click and select Show Package Contents, and post vmware.log?

    hi

    thanks for replying

sorry for delay in posting log

XP will load up in safe mode, so i guess its a driver/hardware issue

since above post, ive tried with bootcamp 1.4 and latest VMfusion, still no good.

    thansk

Your VM is set up for a Bus Logic device, but the .vmx file is set to "lsilogic". This is causing your blue screen.

I don't remember where your VM is located, but you need to open the bundle and the .vmx file

    (It might be /Users//Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp/%2Fdev%2Fdisk0/Boot Camp partition.vmwarevm/Boot Camp partition.vmx or something)

Then you need to find the line in the .vmx file "scsi0.virtualDev = lsilogic"

    You should change it to:

    scsi0.virtualDev = buslogic

    hi

the file you suggest opening does not seem to be the right one.

i have opened the contents of the BOOT CAMP PARTITION package

if i open the .vmx file it just runs the VM (and fails to boot properly)

i cant find anywhere to alter the code you suggest changing.

    please help!

its been ages now and i cant get this running

You need to open this file with a text editor (the .vmx file) such as BBedit. If you double-click on it the Virtual Machine will boot.

thanks, got the edit done, but it still doesnt work

the line to remove was not there, but i tried adding the replacement line at the end of the code, but to no avail

    i'm still stuck!
