I get the error "Virtualized Intel VT-x/EPT is not supported on this platform." when attempting to launch a Window Server 2022 VM with VMWare Workstation Pro 17.6.3.
Setup:
Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7
Intel Core Ultra 9 185H (Meteor Lake-based, new generation)
Windows 11 Pro (Host)
I have turned off and verified none of the Hyper-V services are running.
I confirmed there are not any nested VMs.
These lines are present in the vmx file:
vhv.enable = "TRUE"
hypervisor.cpuid.v0 = "FALSE"
mce.enable = "TRUE"
I created a new Ubunto VM and confirmed VT-x is not visible to the Ubuntu guest.
I exported the VM to an OVF and imported it into VirtualBox and the Windows VM will launch in VirtualBox. I've tried everything I can find to fix this issue, including everything from ChatGPT.
Does anyone have know how to resolve this issue or have any additional troubleshooting suggestion?
Thanks in advance,
Rob
