  • 1.  Are virtual PCs running Fusion on a MAC vulnerable to viruses?

Everytime I start up VMWare Fusion on my MacBook Pro, a message window pops up telling me I have no virus protection installed and my computer is vulnerable to viruses, etc? Is this applicable to a virtual PC like what those of us using VMWare are doing? If so, what do you recommend I install and do I install it only on my virtual PC or on my mac or both? Thanks.

Treat a virtual machine the same way as you would a physical one with regards to security. They are just as vulnerable as a similarly configured piece of hardware. I don't have any opinions on antivirus. I personally think it's OK to skip on the Mac side because I don't know of any wild viruses that affect the Mac; if you're worried, you should use both.

    Thank you so very much.

I appreciate the advice and will do some anti-virus shopping. Agree

    about the mac.

    Best.
