Tie net virtual network adapter to handmade vmnet

I handmade a host only vmnet (vmnet2) in this case. I cant seem to figure out how to hack the .vmx to tie the 2nd network adapter to the vmnet2. The only valid options I see are nat, hostonly, and bridged. Where are these defined so I can make my own custom name, or is there something else I can do?
