    Hello everyone,

I would like to have your feedback on the situation we are facing, here is an overview:

    Infrastructure:

8 ESX single CPU 16 cores with 160TB of VSAN (raw capacity) and a Vcenter Standard.

When we deployed the infrastructure at the client, it was already equipped with Vsphere Enterprise plus and Vcenter Standard license. We therefore simply ordered the VSAN Enterprise part to cover the 8 CPUs.

    My question :

With the repurchase and change of license, we are encountering a problem because the support for the Vsphere Enterprise plus and Vcenter licenses are expiring. I will therefore have to order the new VVF licenses (Vsphere enterprise plus + Vcenter standard) for 128 cores.

What about VSAN CPU licenses? Will they be supported in the Vcenter Standard subscription? Will I need to create a new Vcenter instance? Anyway, if anyone has already done the test :). Thank you for your help and feedback.

The following licensing options should cover this:

    VCF - VMware Cloud Foundation
    128 x VCF-TD-TL-#P-C + 32 x VSP-PL-TD-VSAN-TL-#P-C
Each VCF core license includes 1TiB vSAN raw capacity.

    VVF - VMware vSphere Foundation
    128 x VSP-PL-TD-TL-#P-C + 160 x VSP-PL-TD-VSAN-TL-#P-C

The "#" in the SKUs stands for the available years (1, 3, or 5 years).
Note that with a 3 or 5 year prepaid subscription you can save money compared to x times the 1 year subscription.

Also note that the cost for both licensing options is almost the same, so it may be worth going with the VCF licenses.

Ok thank you for your feedback.

My question is above all, is it possible to only purchase 128 x VVF and keep my VSAN licenses perpetual until the end of VSAN support.

At this time I will then come and buy the VSAN subscription licenses

I'm in doubt about that, and I'm afraid that only VMware can answer that question.
