  • 1.  vSphere+ vCenter Upgrade Temp Network

Hi All, few questions about vSphere+

    1. If you setup the cloud gateway appliance and link your on prem vCenter to VMware Cloud and vSphere+, is it optional to setup VMware Cloud vCenter Upgrade? Or can you just carry on manually upgrading vCenter on prem as you always have?

    2. The requirements detail a "Temporary Network" does this mean Temporary IP Address that can be assigned during the upgrade? So its not a temp network just a temp IP needed on same Subnet as the vCenter currently has?

    Thanks,

Hmmm. for #1 I'm not entirely sure, but I believe you need the two vCS to be aligned.

For #2, it is a temp IP for upgrade purposes only, to avoid having a basic IP conflict and making your vCS crash during the upgrade. Yes, I would keep it in the same subnet (and VLAN or VXLAN) to maintain connectivity and reduce that risk.
