Getting Started with CA Communities - First Steps

CA Communities is a virtual collaboration site where customers, partners, and CA employees alike can share ideas, questions, and insights on  many of CA Technologies' products. It serves to act as both a first stop and go-to solution for any product questions, concerns, or insights.

Code of Ethics for Community Members

Community leaders and members are requested to help ensure that the group is focused around knowledge sharing to better enhance the users' deployment, implementation and usage of CA Technologies' software. Any product related questions, problems or issues which the group is unable to address should be brought to the proper technical support or services contacts, and then escalated to the CA Communities team for follow up as appropriate.

Community leaders and members are expected to act in a professional manner and be respectful to others, their property, and any proprietary information which may be discussed. All community members will refrain from illegal copying, exchange or distribution of copyrighted materials or software. All community members will not use the group names, activities, or other members'™ names in an inappropriate or unethical activity that would result in either personal or professional gain for themselves, their employers, or their own businesses. Community members must uphold the laws regarding licensing and restrictions applicable to commercial software and between their company and CA Technologies.

Violating the Code of Ethics may result in membership termination from the CA Technologies' communities. CA Technologies sets out the terms and conditions of your use of our services in the Terms and Conditions agreed to when registering for CA Communities. Some of the key things to remember are:

  • You may not abuse, harass, threaten, or advocate violence against other members or individuals or groups.
  • Stay on topic. Although some groups hold different standards, most groups appreciate it when you stay on topic. If you constantly stray from the topic you may be moderated or removed from a group altogether by the leaders of that community.
  • You may not use this community for commercial or advertising purposes.
  • You may not post content which infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties.
  • CA Technologies reserves the right to remove content that it determines, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate and/or in violation of our rules and the agreed upon terms and conditions when registering for CA Communities.

What are the CA Communities?

CA Communities is a platform where customers, partners, and CA employees can all connect, learn, and share on Realize the full potential of your CA Technologies solutions by leveraging shared knowledge and experience as well as community events like webcasts and meet-ups. Each product has its own community, which can be found in the Communities directory. From there, each individual community has its own welcome page, calendar, and content library where community members can contribute content in order to spread knowledge and enhance user experience in a particular product.

How do I Access CA Communities?

There are a number of different ways to access CA Communities. One way is to click on Services and Support on the top banner on and select CA Communities. Alternatively, you can access the communities directly by going to

Is the Content on the CA Communities Restricted?

Most of the information within CA Communities can be accessed and viewed without logging in to the system. In fact, the content displayed in the communities is indexed by search engines such as Google. However, in order to get the most out of your online experience, and in order to participate and interact in the communities, you will need to log in to the system. For example, for most of our communities, you will be able to see the content of the community without logging in, however; if you want to join the community or create content, you will need to log in to the system.

How to Obtain Log-in Credentials

CA Communities uses a single sign-on model with other CA websites such as CA Support Online and / or  In other words, if you already have credentials to access those systems, you can use the same username and password to access CA Communities.
