I want to do the VCP5-DCV certification but im not sure how much i need to know to even have a chance to make it, Maybe someone could point me in the right direction.
i have finished these 2 courses

vSphere: Optimize & Scale [V5.5]

You can take either the VCP510 or VCP550 exams - they lead to the same certification.

but i can still take either of them right?
btw how do VMware confirm i have done the courses so i can take the exam?
Yes you can still take either exam - VCP510 is based on vSphere 5.0/5.1 and VCP550 is on vSphere 5.5.
Your attendance on the courses should have been tracked by the training provider, you should see them on your myLearn transcript - head over to this page and login to your account: VMware Education
