Discovered: Survey Failed

DCFM 10.4.4


We have 2 x Brocade 5300 switches in separate fabrics managed by DCFM 10.4.4.

One of the switches shows up as "discovered: survey failed" in the DCFM "discover setup" screen.

The other is "Discovered: seed switch" and works fine.

Any ideas why I get the survey failed message - have tried playing with various SNMP settings, but no luck so far.

Hello Tony,

Some more information on this topic will be helpful.

Are both switches on the same network?

Any firewall issues?

Are both switches running on the same FOS code?

Did you have Virtual Fabric or AD active on the non working switch enabled?

Is the role of the user on both switches the same?

Was DCFM able to register itself as SNMP trap receiver on the non working switch with level four?

Try to work on the questions from above and report if the problem exist.
