Currently running the Brocade SMI Agent version 120.11.0 and up until a few weeks ago it was working. Now it is not. There are 4 specific MPRs that I can easily discover with no problem. The SAN Fabric switches (including the brand new 5100s) I simply cannot discover. The error codes from the SMI agent are usually either "4" or "6" (though I have seen 32789 as well).
The new 5100s shouldn't have an RPC issue and they're configured to talk to the SMI agent. I can log DIRECTLY into the Brocade SAN switches but I cannot discover them using the SMI agent anymore. I've tried the "root" account as well with the same issues. It's definitely not the credentials but how it's being passed from the SMI agent to the switch.
I added the SMI agent host to the SAN switches as well, thinking that might be an issue with SNMP. No dice. Anyone have an idea on what is going wrong? There are not any special security settings set right now, I'm just trying to get the SMI to connect first to the switches. Later I will add the security settings but for now I am at a loss. Not sure if they did something to the firewall recently and maybe there is a port blocked or something.
Thoughts?

I have the same problem.
We installed a new environment and started from scratch with BNA v11.3.0.
It works for a feew weeks and then the I get an error saying "Discovered: Not reachable - Not registered for SNMP traps".
I have opened a case at right now it handled by Level 3 support team.
If/when I have a solution I will contact you again.
Best regards,
/Thomas

I upgrade FOS from 6.4 to 7.0.1, then SMI-agent can't connect to switch.
