  • 1.  upload firmware using tftp

    Posted Jul 18, 2018 12:12 AM

    I have assigned an IP to switch and same range ip address to the PC.

    I am able to ping or ssh to the switch. But from switch I am unable to ping to switch.

    It gives Error : TFTP timeout, Error 5

    Can you help to let me know the procedure to do a tftp from switc to server.

    @Legacy User

    IP based product are not longer supported by brocade,  add. you don't specified the Switch Type/Model

    please post in the future such question by the vendor community, see below.

    anyway....

    --->>> Error : TFTP timeout, Error 5

    is in most case caused by active Firewall

    Apologies for not providing sufficient details. Missed it when I copied from Notepad.

    The switch model is Brocade FWS648G.

    I am able to ping or ssh to the switch. But from the switch, I am unable to ping to PC.

    It gives Error: TFTP timeout, Error 5

    I tried turning off Windows firewall and also configured to permit tftp port in the policy.

    For some reason, it's not working.
