Ftp Process for Download file from SAP server to ETL server
FTP is an acronym for File Transfer Protocol. It represents a widely-used, but non-secure, method for transferring files between two computers. In our Scenario target is SAP Server and source is ETL Server. When you retrieve a file from the target server, you are performing a "get" operation. This is also known as "downloading".
Operating System AIX, Solaris
Interface fibre
Fabric Operating System 4.1
Other Currently we are running in our production server through cron job at 9PM on sundays
Tested in our production server (AIX, Solaris, Linux).
SAP Server:-
In SAP Server(Target Server) every week we scheduled jobs on Sundays between 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM through ABAP/4 programs for downloading files from SAP tables and save into text format by pipe separator between columns with filenames as _.txt. And it is kept in this path /ora/WE/focus. And also it creates a file named filepaths_.txt it contains the list of files which downloaded.
ETL Server:-
In ETL server(Source Server) every week we scheduled jobs on Sundays at 9:00 PM through shell script. This script will transfer all files from SAP server to ETL Server according to the input date which is passing. This are the input parameters hard corded in the script:- (Server Name of source server - ETL server)
DATE=`date +%d%m%y` (Todays date in DDMMYY)
DT=`date +20%y%m%d` (Todays date in YYYYMMDD)
DOMAIN=/dsdata/Source (source Server path)
TARGET=/ora/WE/focus (target Server path)
host= (IP Address of target Server - SAP server)
Input file:- controlfile.txt - contains the list of files which has to be transfer from SAP to ETL. Concerned developer has to update this file if new source file needs.
filepath_.txt - creates in SAP server and ftp to ETL Server.

transfered_files_.txt - creates in ETL server once files transferred.

And finally this script compares controlfile.txt and transferfile.txt, if it does not matches it will send email as 'failed' else it'll send 'success'.
