Using SSH Key authentication for a remote (Radius) user ?

[ Edited ]

We recently implemented remote (Radius) authentication on some of our switches.

We'd like to use a ssh key authentication from our Linux admin station to connect to the switches.

I tried to import the public key but it doesn't recognize my remote user :

SWITCH01:admin> sshutil importpubkey
Enter user name for whom key is imported:abcdef
Enter IP address:
Enter remote directory:/home/abcdef/.ssh/
Enter public key name(must have .pub suffix)
Enter login name:abcdef
Named user does not exist

Any idea if it's possible to use SSH key authentication for remote users ? Did I miss a step ?
