Upgrade risk assessment for 6520 and 7840 extenton

we are planning to upgrade our switch 6520 and extenssion 7480 with 2 hops for non-disruptive. from 7.4.1d >> 8.0.2b (1st hop) >> 8.1.2d (target)

as preparation, have few questions:

1. is the hop versions recommendable?

2. switches Zone DB utilization are 92% and 84%. since will upgrade 2 hops, will it increase the DB usage after upgrade?

3. if in case we need to rollback, will the DB utilization a threat?

4.overall recommendation, can we proceed with that DB utilization thresh hold?

Thanks!

Re: Upgrade risk assessment for 6520 and 7840 extenton

@siegfred

FIRST AT ALL!!!!

--->>>>from 7.4.1d >> 8.0.2b

if the 7840 Ext. is configured as FCIP, FOS v8.0.2b is due a performance issue absolutely NO GO!

instead you have to use the package v8.0.2b2

Second:

--->>>2. switches Zone DB utilization are 92% and 84%

how many config have you saved ? the value reported are very strong.

Finally:

is not clear to me what you meaning with --->>> "....with 2 hops...." ?
