Switch replacement

Hello,

I have to replace two Brocade 300 connected via ISL by two Brocade 6510

The two new 6510 will also be connected via the same ISL link previously used by the BR 300

What is the best way to do that ?

I think about the following :

 - change Domain ID of the new BR 6510

 - creating additionnal ISL from one BR300 to one BR 6510 on each side.

 - disconnect the BR300

 - connect the two BR 6510 using the ISL link previously used to connect the two BR 300

Is that correct ?

Waiting for any suggestions

Regards,

Alain

Re: Switch replacement

Best practice is to have two separate fabrics. At least until you get into the advanced fabric design.

If there are only two switches, they should not be connected via ISL.
