I no longer see the portcfgfillword listed under the portcfgshow on the brocade 8510 and 6510 switches.
You may say it does not apply to a 16Gb port, but what happens if, by chance, want to set this port to 8Gb?
I have had to set some ports on 8Gb connections between certain products with a Portcfgfillword setting of 3
3 = If ARBF/ARBF fails use IDLE/ARBF
Does anyone have any insight on this issue?
I am also curious why it does not apply to a 16Gb port.
Thanks
matt

True, the 16G platform autodetects which fillword it should use and therefor there's no need for the portcfgfillword command

But on an FC8-64 that has Condor2 ASICs in a DCX 8510 (with Condor3 in CR and Condor2 in CP) can we use the portcfgfillword?
Is this combination considered a "16G platform"?

In this case it doesn't matter that other blades with Condor3 are present.
The user facing port is bound to a Condor2 ASIC which cannot autodetect the fillword, thus portcfgfillword must be used.
