Port Zoning verses ISL?

Greetings All,

I'm relatively new to Storage and here is my question:

We are implementing a DR site that is about 50 miles away including our

loops. I want to know if I can Fabric Zone our Brocade 2005_B32

switches (Silkworm 4100) from port to port or do I need to setup an ISL?

Any documents, links or inputs would be greatly appreciated.

We will be using our own fiber and our goal is disk to disk replication.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Port Zoning verses ISL?

Port Zoning and ISL are two different thing's.

ISL = Inter Switch Link, consist to connect two or more Switch Port to Port with or without Trunking ( if you have a Trunking License )

By 50 Miles you need a Extended Fabric License.

Are both switch for Extended Fabric Licensed ?
