Port 0 HP SAN Switch 4/8 ?

Hi all,

I will use several SAN Switch Brocade 4/8, embedded in a HP chassis. It will be possible to use the port named as "Port 0" to connect a host or other SAN Switch to create an ISL? I don't have a exact description about this Port, could you help me about this?

Thanks in advance!

Usually Port 0 is intended to connect to an External SAN Switch, but should work for direct Host Connections.

Hi,

for basic information about the port you can type 'switchshow' in the CLI and look at the entry for Port 0.

If it says "id" that means it's a port where you have an SFP installed. If it says "cu" that means it's an internal port within the HP chassi.

More details about the port you can find with "portshow 0".
