Migrate storage from 4900 to DCX with HP UX server

Hi All,

We are planning for a SAN migration from brocade 4900 to DCX 8510. The existing SAN has EMC storage and HP UX server i11 v2. I know the FCID/PID will change if we connect the Storage to the new DCX. is there a way to avoid this disruption and smoothly migrate the SAN to DCX. I did a little research on the net but all steps are a bit confusing. Will the "WWN based persistent PID" help? Or any way we can duplicate the FCID from the existing 4900 to DCX?

Can anyone suggest a solution to the above case?

Hi,

How are you planning to perform the migration? merging the two switchs into the same fabric or setting the same DID in both and move the zoning?

WWN based persistent PID is a good option but it does not warantee an specific PID.
