Hello
Thank you for helping me in the below
Here is the story :
I have a Brocade Internal SAN Switch (IBM P/N :32R1812) (MFR Model: IBM-4020) (Firmware 6.2.2b )
To be able to connect the above Internal SAN Switch brocade to the live external IBM 2005-16B switch, I had to downgrade the firmware of the internal SAN switch.
When I was downgrading the firmware from 6.2.2.b to v6.1.1a,
the process took so long, so I stopped it.
after that I couldn’t Login to the switch, no user was allowed
I tried all the combination : USERID- PASSW0RD
admin- password.
Root- fabrianne
factory-password
I even did a restore factory state from the IBM managment Blade tool, no luck
when i used the user : factory
i got the following error :
Cannot make/remove an entry for the specified session
Can you please help me retrieving the password
SAN Switch Details:
Brocade(R) 20-port 4 Gb SAN Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter
P/N : 32R1812
S/N : 32R1818YK50200E6006
MFR PN : IB-4020
SUPLIER SN : TV040054437
WWN : 10.00.00.05.33.18.8D.8E
PS. that kind of switch has no Serial port attached
Kind regards

rdiab,
for account "root" as default is the password
"fibranne" and not
Root- fabrianne
If already all password was changed and lost, follow the Password recovery Procedure.
I believe the 4020 is based with -01 Procedure, here find you both, -01 and -02
If you are satisfied with the responses please mark as 'Answered'.
If not, just let me know I can see to get more info.
I would appreciated if you rate the threads.
Thank you.

again "root - fibranne"
and not "root-password"

Is correct 4020 don't have a external Serial Port, you must connect trough the BladeCenter Serial Port, reboot and select in Boot menu Slot option in order to boot into the appropriate Blade/Blade slot.

I even tried account
root-fibranne : no luck
what do you think about this error :
Cannot make/remove an entry for the specified session
is it coming because the downgrade process was no continued
I am searching now how to connect to serial port for IBM bladecenter H

you made wrong or interrupt the "firmwaredownload" procedure during upgrade/downgrade.
If Boot procedure is stopped due a issue during upgrade/downgrade, so is the behavior not a user/password login, and don't make sense to discuss here about password recovery procedure.
You can try to connect trough the serial port, collect the output and post here.
booted the switch till login prompt ?
who stuck the "firmwaredownload" and why stopping the process ?

The downgrade process took so long . that's why we stop it
I found at IBM a serial for bladecenter
As per the below link,
This special cable is designed to provide customers a direct serial interface to each blade on the BladeCenter H chassis.
So i m not sure if IBM has a way to manage the SAN switch Module
I feel that i m stuckehere
is it possible to claim this switch under warranty

the cable was delivered with th eblade center, if you lost this one you must buy a new.

Generally, you cannot stop the Upgrade Procedure by Command, this can only be stopped trough Power Off / Power On.

I'm not IBM or you Reseller, if the Switch is under Active Maintenance Contract you can Open a replacement call.
But I don't think you get a replacement from

the person who faced all this problem is unreachable
I was told now that this happened due to a power problem.
the electricity went off during the firmware downgrade process.
does the power outage makes such trouble??
thank you for your suport

Power Off or
"electricity went off during the firmware downgrade"
is the same.
As mentioned you can try to login trough the console and then try to restart "firmwaredownload" but a chance is very minimal that work.
