Loopback->Port issue

Hi All,

we had a cable connected from Celerra NAS Aux port to switch port 33 when we shifted this connection from server_3 to server_2 (different blade in celerra NAS) status of port 33 changed to Loopback->Port 33, what cab be the issue?

33  33   010d00   id    N4   Online      FC  Loopback->Port 33

Thanks in advance.

Re: Loopback->Port issue

Hi Ankush

I would check the port configuration on the Celerra. What sometimes also helps is to do a portcfgpersistentdisable and afterwards a portcfgpersistentenable on the switchport (will initiate a new fabric login). I have seen some loopbacks in other situations where the procedure I mentioned helped...

Re: Loopback->Port issue

Loopback mode is used for testing the port. I would try a 'portCfgDefault <port#>" on the switch and then possibly setting things like fix speed ('portCfgSpeed') and topology '(portCfgGPort' for instance).

Ultimately you may also want to reset the configuration on the storage array port.
