Ed,That got me looking into this, i've used cisco mds in the past which did not have this type of config.

First, you probably don't have a master/master trunk. You have 2 trunks with a master in each. SSH or Telnet to the switch and do a trunkshow and islshow.Second, the GoldenEye ASIC supports only 4-port trunk groups. It's a baby version of the Condor. You should make sure you're using trunking on both ends.

Ed,The 4012's (GoldenEye) have the licence installed and we are only using 2 ports off them to the 4100.

The preferred order is (per fabric on each one):You're currently in option 3.
