Error: Upgrade of FOS is not possible due to an invalid license key

Hello,

I am running two IBM B300s and I've come across the following error while upgrading from 7.4.1 to 7.4.2:

"Upgrade of FOS is not possible due to an invalid license key.  Please contact your reseller"

Switch 1 upgraded fine, but I see this issue on Switch 2.

License on Switch 2: "Open Frame Redirection,Full Ports on Demand license - additional 16 port upgrade"

I came across the following related post:

https://community.brocade.com/t5/Fibre-Channel-SAN/error-upgrading-FOS-from-7-4-1e/td-p/93517

It appears the 16port license needs to be split in two POD licenses, but I don't have a support contract for it.

Would Brocade be able to sort out the license? or am I stuck with the 7.4.1 build?

Thoughts?

Thank you,

Andy

Andy,

Does SW1 have x2 8-Port POD licenses?  I am having this same issue, but both FC switches have "Full Ports on Demand license - additional 16 port upgrade license"

Re: Error: Upgrade of FOS is not possible due to an invalid license key

Correct, the switch with two 8-port licenses continues to be able to upgrade to newer FOS 7x releases.

The other switch with 16-port license is still stuck on the old FOS version.
